In therapy, I look at every family’s unique dynamics, cultural background, and each individual’s personal beliefs. Using a solution-focused and family systems-based approach, I’ll tailor sessions to meet your family’s specific needs, ensuring that each person’s voice is recognized. 

I use a combination of well-regarded therapeutic approaches that help family members better hear and understand their differing points of view. 

I use a combination of Internal Family Systems, Gottman Method, Emotionally Focused Therapy, mindfulness, Somatic Experiencing, Non-Violent Communication (NVC), and Adult Attachment Theory. These techniques, plus the practical tools I will provide for your family members will help you better prepare yourselves for challenging conversations. I will help you successfully work through any difficult emotions that may arise and make difficult mutual decisions as a “team”. The combination of the modalities I use, as well as my thirty years of experience in conducting family therapy and mediation sessions, has given me the skills to effectively meet your family members’ therapy goals.

Often, I begin by meeting with family members separately before bringing everyone together. This process allows me to gain insight into each person’s perspective and role within the family dynamic. Whether addressing longstanding conflicts, adjusting to life transitions, or improving day-to-day interactions, therapy provides a foundation for positive change.

Family therapy is not a one-size-fits-all process—it can be brief, with as few as four sessions, or extend longer depending on your family’s needs and goals. Throughout our work together, I help families identify unhelpful coping strategies, replace them with healthier habits, and practice open, constructive communication.
