Healing After High-Control or Spiritually Abusive Experiences

Have you left a spiritual group, religious organization, or personal growth community that
once gave you meaning, but now you’re left with grief, confusion, anger, or shame?

Are you still inside a high-demand or controlling group, starting to see the cracks? Are you beginning to see the manipulation, the fear-based control, the subtle (or blatant) spiritual abuse, and wondering if it’s time to leave?

Maybe your identity is tied so deeply to the group that you’re not sure who you are without it. Maybe you’re half in, half out, afraid to leave because you know you’ll be ostracized, shamed, or even harassed.

You’re not alone. You’re not crazy. And you don’t have to untangle this by yourself anymore.

Who This Online Support Group Is For

This online support group for survivors of cult-like or spiritually abusive communities is a
place to process, heal, and rebuild, gently and together.

You might resonate if you’ve been part of:

• A spiritual, religious, wellness, or personal development group that demanded your silence and compliance
• A community where you were emotionally manipulated, shamed, or made to distrust yourself
• A group that gave you purpose but also took your voice
• A system that betrayed you, led by people you once trusted like family

Whether you were part of a new-age coaching community, evangelical church, MLM-style spiritual group, or high-control yoga or healing collective, this online support group is here for you.

Common Challenges After Leaving a High-Control Group

• “I feel lost without them… even though they hurt me.”
• “I feel ashamed I stayed so long.”
• “Who am I without that group?”
• “I left, but part of me still believes I’m doing something wrong.”
• “I want to heal from spiritual trauma but I don’t know where to start or whom to trust.”

These are common thoughts in cult recovery and religious trauma healing and they’re welcome here.

What Participants Often Seek in Healing

• A safe, non-judgmental space to tell your story
• People who say, “Me too. That happened to me too.”
• Support that honors your truth without pressure or dogma
• A path back to your intuition, voice, body, and self-trust
• A new kind of belonging, where connection is mutual, not conditional
