What happens when you unplug a radio from the power source? Eventually the backup battery will drain, you’ll experience static, and then the power completely stops.
Irritation. Confusion. Illness. Agitation and anxiety. Anger. Fear. When we are disconnected from our source, our soul, or whatever terminology you prefer, we may feel any or all of these emotions. It may help to remember that these are symptoms of the disconnection. They are the static indicating that our battery is draining, and can usually be remedied by plugging in again.
This may sound a little harsh, but it is so true that when we deny our own feelings we not only negatively affect our health, we deny our true essence. When we reconnect with our own Power Source, we can eliminate the static and find peace.
“And how do I do that?” you may ask. A brief list of things to try:
- Still the mind with prayer or meditation
- Take a walk and savor the natural world
- Accept your feelings as they are, but realize you have the power to change them.
- Honor your boundaries of time and personal space.
- Eat in a healthful and satisfying way.
Embrace the natural feelings your body experiences and allow the body to organically espouse them. Be good to yourself and embrace who YOU are. Let this always be your standard.
